We met... we knew it was 'it'! Frumster Couples

Inbal and Akiva

Inbal:

My story starts a few years back. I had spoken on the phone with a Rabbi who insisted I must return to
Israel. The Rabbi did not explain if going back was related to a shidduch or not, but I suspected it was. I have lived in NY for quite a few years and I liked it. I felt that making such a big move from NY back to Israel by myself was too much for me. So I decided to start davening to Hashem. I explained to Hashem it was too difficult for me to move back to Israel by myself and begged him to bring me my shidduch to me. I am not one for dating websites, I didn't feel very comfortable using them plus I consider myself not photogenic. However, I had a chance encounter with a woman who told me she is about to marry the first man who contacted her on Frumster. She also assured me that she herself did not post a very nice picture, she said frum men shouldn't be so shallow as to concentrate on picture alone. It was a day or two after that conversation that I had decided to register on Frumster. I was on Frumster for a short time - maybe a month - when I saw a little IM window pop up. I saw a picture of a man who looked Israeli and it said he was IN Israel. I thought to myself - I prefer to meet American men plus what can really happen with someone who is in Israel while I'm in NY? after ignoring his IMs a few times I have finally opened his profile. He was an American learning in Yeshiva in Israel. I immediately turned to Hashem in my heart and asked - Hashem, is that you bringing me my shidduch?  In past experiences of davening to Hashem I realized that He can give us what we have asked for but it may not be so clear to us (after all, Hashem does not send us a letter saying - ok, you are getting what you have asked for). That is why I immediately suspected it was Hashem, bringing me what I have asked for.  After phone conversations I was convinced this WAS my shidduch. It was not easy. He was there I was here, we have never met before. Let's be realistic - how many Rabbis would recommend a frum man to leave Yeshiva and go to the other side of the world for a woman he had never met? Davening was going on big time I can assure you of that. I wouldn't give up, this was my shidduch and I was going to get him. after alll - Hashem made sure to 'deliver' him to me. After turmoils and much davening it was agreed with accordance to his wonderful Rabbi, that he WILL go to NY to meet me and ASAP. We met, we knew it was 'it'. In my heart even before we met he was my shidduch. We came back together to Israel and got married.

Any shidduch is amazing, a miracle from Hashem. I feel in our story the power of prayer is more important to emphasize than the story of a match. My message to all - DAVEN, a lot! Be specific with Hashem tell him what you need , what you want , ask for his help - he is there for you. I wish for everyone to get their shidduch soon
