Why Two Names?
The JWed.com interface is designed for all types of Jews while the Frumster.com interface is designed primarily for Orthodox Jews. The Frumster name is derived from the Yiddish word Frum which means religious - and therefore primarily attracts religious Jews. The JWed name attracts Jews from all backgrounds and highlights our commitment as a service which results in Jewish Weddings - in contrast to websites that simply encourage casual dating.
In addition to giving you the flexibility to choose which interface you prefer, differentiating these two brands enables us to attract the largest number of marriage-minded Jewish singles through our marketing efforts - making it easier for you to find the right person.^top
How do I change my interface?
You can switch your interface, by simply logging in at the website of your choice.^top
What is the Affiliation Firewall?
Both Frumster and JWed employ a firewall, a special set of rules designed to create an optimal environment for all users, based on their Jewish Outlook. For example, Hassidish or far-right wing religious Jews will not see profiles of Reform Jews and vice versa.
This firewall is completely unrelated to the interface you choose (Frumster or JWed) but rather is strictly related to the Jewish affiliation you choose in your profile. You can change your Jewish affiliation at anytime by updating your profile.^top
What happened to my Frumster account?
Your interface may have been automatically switched to JWed based on the Jewish Outlook you chose in your profile. You still have access to all the same profiles and you can switch back to the Frumster interface at anytime by logging in at Frumster.com. ^top
Why did my Frumster account switch to JWed?
Your interface may have been automatically switched to JWed based on the Jewish Outlook you chose in your profile. You can switch back to the Frumster interface at anytime by logging in at Frumster.com.^top
When did my Frumster account switch to JWed?
The JWed interface was introduced to Frumster members on November 20th, 2009. On this day, 20,000 Frumster members were automatically switched to the JWed interface based on the Jewish Outlook chosen in their profile. The JWed interface has no impact on your account and you still have access to all the same profiles. If you prefer, you can switch back to the Frumster interface at anytime by logging in at Frumster.com.^top
Do I have to register twice?
You do not need to nor can you register twice. Both websites use the same database. If the system says your email is taken, it's probably because you registered on Frumster or JWed at some point in the past. Just login or retrieve your password to get started.^top
Do I have to pay twice?
You do not have to pay twice. Access to both interfaces is included in the monthly fee.^top
Do I have access to the same profiles?
You have the same exact access to profiles on both websites. The only thing that is different is the color scheme and the logo.^top
Who owns Frumster and JWed? Did you sell my information?
Frumster and JWed are owned by the same organization. Information is not exchanged between two different organizations when you switch your interface. Your information was not sold to anyone.^top
