If you love to read, to talk about books, all kinds of books then this is the group for you. Have your say. We meet once a month, to discuss books, nash, celebrate life , have fun, and try to get our point across. The idea is to meet new friends and read good books! and who knows find your soul mate.
This month's selection is Jane Green's:
Second Chance
Bestselling author Jane Green brings readers a story of love, loss and renewal in Second Chance. When four childhood friends reunite over the loss of one of their own, they find their friendships rekindled after almost 20 years apart. Through the loss of their friend, Tom, they each begin to see their lives anew.
For Holly, that means awakening to what her marriage has become and making some tough decisions about what her future holds. Another one of the friends, Saffron, comes face-to-face with the addiction that has haunted her. Paul, the lone male of the group, must learn to support his wife as they deal with the pain of infertility. And for Olivia, it means meeting up with a former co-worker of Tom's - a meeting that Tom had arranged prior to his death; a meeting that will change both of their lives forever.
Green weaves these four stories of heartache and triumph together as each of her characters finds a second chance at happiness.
Second Chance is currently number 19 on the New York Best Sellers List of Paperback Fiction.
See you at the book discussion!!

This will be an awesome, action-packed weekend (Thursday night, July 3-Sunday, July 6) in the Lake Placid area.
Based in a cozy, rustic B&B-style inn with log furniture, hickory rocking chairs and a wood-burning fireplace (which we will probably not need this time of year) but technologically linked to provide wireless internet, we will be just minutes from Whiteface Mountain and the Ausable River.
There is no shortage of exciting activities in the area and a detailed itinerary will follow.
We will be taking over all the rooms as well as the kitchen at the Whiteface Chalet in Wilmington, NY. All meals are strictly kosher (fleishig meals are Glatt).
Cost includes the stay at the inn through Sunday afternoon, housekeeping, gratuities and all meals / snacks (we promise that you will not go hungry!). There are additional costs for other activities such as kayaking, biking, etc.
For more details and registration, log onto www.jewishoutdoorsclub.org
Registration will be closed as of Tuesday, July 1st., but we fill up fast, so sign up today. Please note — the inn is only open to registered JOC guests for the weekend. Also, once we fill up we can't accommodate additional guests for the meals.
Any questions? Please e-mail Sarah at JOCgirl@gmail.com or Bonnie at joc_event@yahoo.com
